The web comprises the vast majority of the contents over the Internet, with news groups and e-mail coming a distant second and third.

Website reside on computers called Internet servers. When you're connect to the Internet, Your web browser communicates with Internet Servers, ask them to send to your computer a copy of the web page you'd like to see. The introduction of this user-friendly interface to help People move around, find information and visit websites has - in conjunction with www -helped popularize the Internet.
